UGL Services Wins Hariri’s Arab Award for the Best Performance of a Private Company 2012
Under the patronage of H.E President of Lebanon represented by H.E. the Minster of Work, Mr. Ghazi Al Areedi, UGL Services (Middle East) received an award for the Best Performance of a Private Company in 2012 on May 8 2012 during an award ceremony in Beirut, Lebanon.
The award was received on behalf of UGL Services by Mr. Mohamad Abou Laban, General Manager in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The award was in recognition of UGL Services strong performance on the Aspire Zone Project in Qatar and builds on last year’s recognition for the “Best Facilities Management Project of 2011” at the Middle East Facilities Management awards.
The Project - Aspire Zone
Aspire Zone is a 250-hectare sporting complex located in Doha, Qatar, which contains the largest sports hall in the world. The sporting venues include a 50,000-capacity stadium primarily used for soccer matches, Hamad Aquatic Center, an Olympic-size swimming pool, the Aspire Dome, the world's largest indoor multi-purpose sports hall containing 13 different playing fields and the region’s only FIFA accredited medical centre of excellence.
The team are very proud of this project, as they have recently achieved 6,400,000 injury-free man hours at the end of March 2012. Also, despite the increase in events by 43% between FY 11 and FY10, energy costs have only increased by 5.2%.
